Play chess with the Devil. Understand the most popular book in the world. Genesis 3. Autumn and the covenant of redemption. Lesson 3

Lesson 3 – Genesis 3 – The Fall of Man and the Covenant of Redemption

Up to this chapter, the man lived in a world peace and harmony with its environment, its like, and his Creator. The last verse of chapter 2, verse 25, is a statement that summarizes this bliss – "The man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed." But this would change.

Genesis 3:1-13 The temptation and fall

Satan as a serpent, came to the woman and tried to eat the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Since Adam probably told him what God said instead of hearing itself, it was lowest on the link and most vulnerable of his trick. Satan has strengthened its appeal by boldly and directly calling God a liar when he denied that she would die if she ate. The first lie the liar himself (John 8:44) denied the arrest. Instead, the liar said, Eve would be enlightened and become like God, knowing good and evil. Temptation was that God was withholding something that very well pleased. Satan create an appetite for something she did not. John described as "the craving of sinful man, the lust of the eyes and the boasting of what he has and does. "(I John 2:16)

Since it does not seem to have any immediate effects of death after he ate from the tree, she persuaded Adam to eat too. Paul says, "For Adam was formed first, then Eve And Adam was not the wrong person. It was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. "(I Timothy 2:14). However, the tsunami swept consequences in more than two of them. The awareness that they naked came first. So in a sense, their eyes opened. The devil was right after all – you "know good and evil." Shame on their own nakedness are shocked. This was indeed the immediate result of the flood of guilt who have abused their conscience. They have now seen some others and themselves quite different than they had before. The innocence after conviction powerful effect has probably been so traumatic their feelings, fears, and physical reactions they must feel completely vulnerable, exposed and threatened the other presence in ways we all know so well. They wanted to hide this shameful change each other. Their complicity in this whole relationship has been affected, and they wanted to reach for anything that can cover the other point of view and the scrutiny of Him who gave them the command not to eat. Shame in nakedness is a permanent, ongoing effects on the psyche of the human race left as a constant reminder of guilt and condemnation of sin we are all born as. There is a persistent urging, though few recognize it for what it is.

Thus began the ground that any sinner since then has practiced naturally when he knowingly did wrong. First, they covered and hid themselves with fig leaves in an attempt to conceal guilt. They hid from each other and God that created them. They tried to do what they had found. We do the same thing today, we just do not use fig leaves to do so. We deny or rationalize or intellectualize the seriousness of things that we did. Sometimes the guilt is so serious that people are trying to appease him by taking medication. Others have finally sink in all kinds of personality disorders such as schizophrenia, split personality, etc. This is only the figure left to hide behind instead of admitting to confess his sins.

The second thing they did – when the Lord asked if they had eaten of the tree – Was to place the blame elsewhere, but on themselves. When God asked Adam and Eve, "Have you eaten of the tree that I commanded you not to eat? "They should be yes. But look at the first words each instead said. The man said:" The woman you … "He criticized both God and woman. Eve said: "The snake …" This is the model for all sins. Cover and hide and point the finger at someone else.

Genesis 3:14-19 The announcement of the covenant with Adam, the first installment in the Covenant of Redemption

But God has simply rejected the apology and the sentence handed directly and immediately on Satan, Eve and Adam in verses 14-19. The ruling is broad and goes beyond the death penalty threatened in 2:18. But it includes the first proclamation of Jesus Christ and the hope for man and woman who are now packaged in sin, death and condemnation. In these verses, God made a covenant with Adam ANOTHER. This is the first of six after SIN Covenants that God made with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and form what is called the Covenant of Redemption. This alliance dominates the rest of Scripture the end of the Bible. God did not need Adam or Eve to do anything. There was nothing they could do anyway. In Genesis 3:15, God bound himself and made a promise to avenge Adam and his posterity, to save him from eternal death, and eventually restore it from its fallen state.

God's judgments and promises are available in three stages: the sentence pronounced upon Satan, the woman and man.

3:14-15 Judgement on Satan

The heart of the trial on Satan in verse 15. This is one of the most important verses in all of Scripture, because it is a verse that gives the general history of what is going to take place from now until the end of time. There is a verse summary key to give structure to the Bible and helps you understand what's happening in the scriptures. Verse 15 is better understood by the diagram below. God will put enmity between the serpent and the woman, not only because he has cheated, but it has brought death to she, her husband and all her children in every generation. Not only that, but the woman's children will all be born in the devil's family and under its bondage. There numerous references in the New Testament, where men are called the children of the devil (John 8:37-44, 3:10 I John). This is because all the son Adam is born in sin (Psalm 51:5, Romans 5:12). Therefore, we are by nature under the wrath of God (Ephesians 2:1-3) enemies of God and hostile to nature (Romans 8:7,8), and in the bondage of Satan (II Timothy 2:26, Hebrews 2:14-15, John 8:34, Romans 6:16). What Eve shock to realize that all her children would be in servitude to this loathsome creature who tried to reach and such misery on her and her children, even caused to be called by his name, God will put enmity between the descendants of Satan and between descendants of the woman. The female offspring may seem like many people, but it is actually a reference to one person, referred to him. This reference to his offspring, or seed, is the key phrase in 3:15. The woman will have a male child who avenge and redeem. Even if it brought death to the race, God has promised revenge seed who will crush the serpent's head. When the child comes, the snake pay dearly for his life. The last 3:15 party concludes an intense conflict omen. The head of the snake will violently trampled causing his death, but the snake will strike the heel of the Avenger and causes great pain and injury to him in the process. (See diagram http://public.iwork.com/document/?a=p38279198&d=Lesson_3_-_Genesis_3_-_The_Fall_of_Man_and_The_Covenant_of_Redemption.pages)

We now know that Seed of the woman was the Christ. At the cross, Jesus effectively crushed the serpent's head, and the cross, snake, in a sense, hit the heel of Christ. The crucifixion may have seemed as inevitable. But it was a simple heel crushed, as seen in the resurrection. Head puree is a fatal blow, a heel that is not struck. Satan is death, Jesus lived. But there was no way the woman could have known what it meant. All knew Adam and Eve (and all their children have long known) is that the Son was to come that would be even with Satan because the curse he has on man and woman.

It is not stated explicitly, but implicitly it will do more Conqueror that simply crush the head of Satan. Both Adam and Eve may have read in the statement that everything that has been lost can somehow, someday be thus redeemed. This includes creating damaged, and even his children hate the very seeds that would bring in the world. It is the promise in the Bible that the Lord will end the curse (Apocalypse 22:3) and renew his creation when he returns with a new heaven and new earth (II Peter 3:10-13, Romans 8:19-21) and the Tree of Life in His Kingdom (Apocalypse 22:2), and we now know that the redemption of the Conqueror not include many children woman who would be freed from the bondage of the devil and their animosity toward their mother's Avenger. Hate reads in about 3:15 between the descendants of the serpent and the offspring the woman is extended further than just between Satan's offspring and the Conqueror. It also includes the descendants of Satan and the newly acquired by the Conqueror. The conflict between these two parties began to rage immediately and continue until the end of time. A bitter war of hostility within the human race comes down between the descendants of Satan and redeemer. the sin of the woman placed her children in the kingdom of darkness and culminated a world-wide conflict between her children that the tail is behind their natural father, the devil, or the Redeemer. Peace, freedom and unity the first family in the garden was never broken and broke. Eve's descendants would despise each other and of the Son Redeemer well.

The diagram above is the story of the entire Old Testament. The Old Testament is a story. But this is not history Abraham or David or Saul Israel or any number of others. This is the story of Jesus Christ and how God has made his promise that he would crush Satan's head by the Seed of the woman and redeem his people from their sins. Each event that you read in the Old Testament and history and each person you see is there because he or she is somehow related to this promise of God. As you read the Bible, try why each event and person is there and what role it played in the Promise.

Genesis 3:16, God Judgement pronounced on the woman. He was twice.

  1. It would have pain in childbirth (pain and knowing she was responsible the death of all generations and hate them)
  2. It would have a desire she had never had before – to rule over her husband. It was pleased to be submitted in its role as an assistant to the head when it was created. But since she had has gone ahead and sin to her husband in the Judgement of God now twisted bid to try to control. Bid would become very difficult for her to do so. She would be happier submitted. Sin had changed her, but she also changed her husband. In his sinless state, Adam was loved and protected as the head. But now, "he will rule over you. "It is harsh and rude judgments in these words. The desire to rule, but his physical strength and inclinations guilty will be tough and dominant. She loved once before the man, but now she hates him and resist him. But the man still standing.

Genesis 3:17-19, God gives a judge the man.

  1. The ground, which was given to productive way forward will now become resistant and unproductive. He will struggle with weeds, diseases and pests, which apparently did not exist before.
  2. Work will be difficult, tiring, boring and painful.
  3. Although man is made from Soil and destined to live forever, he is now condemned to return to the dust that has been done.

Genesis 3:21-24 hope, redemption, and banishment to the seed of the woman comes

These previous sentences must be difficult words for the head of the race to bear. But in 3:20, Adam heard these words about his wife's conquering seed and hope that his Creator gave him. He thought of his poor wife who had been deceived and how the Lord had told him that in the end it would have the final word on the snake. With this hope, there is a longer act as head of the garden and gave his wife his name "Eve". Eve means "mother of all living." One might think his own name was "mother of all who will die." But Adam heard the promise. God would give Eve seed exchange, to revive, and restore them to heaven, he had done for them to live with him that the creature who had his picture and fellowshipped with Him. Out of the Dark conviction, Adam gave a name of light, life and redemption.

Even after conviction, the Creator and extended through mercy to Adam and Eve, suggesting again that it intends to proceed with its alliance with Adam. He made clothes to cover their nakedness, shame and guilt. These clothes were of the skin, suggesting that some animal had to give his life for them to be covered. Perhaps foreshadowed what was coming, that guilt and shame the people of God would indeed be covered by his eyes, giving life and blood of His Son on the cross. But none of these events has been known to date. It would be slowly revealed.

Then God banished Adam and Eve in the garden lest they should always eat from the tree forfeiture of life through disobedience. They would have to wait to redeem the Conqueror and ending the curse, before they never again returned to Paradise and the Tree of Life.
